This project was for a client with a knack for detail, so we went to every measure to make sure all of the planning stages were spot on.
The whole point of this project was to bring more day light and create more space inside the living room.
We initially dug the footings and built the external stonework before Christmas, and then continued after the break. This way, it meant that there was no disturbance inside the house until the new year.
We then returned to do the knock through, which included fitting some big steels to hold up the walls above the opening, and to fit the new UPVC bay window.
Once the roof had been fitted and the building was made watertight, the concentration was on the inside, where a new log burner was to be installed with a new slate hearth and a reclaimed hardwood mantel piece.
The finishing touches were applied in the way of a new composite front door in a traditional anthracite colour, internal decorating using the finest farrow and ball paint, followed by carpets.
